May officialy marked the beginning of DLSU colleagues being imported to NY.

For starters, Chris and Karen arrived last Tuesday for a week's vacation here.

So their first day here, ET took them to Fat Black Pussycat bar. I'm not realy a fan of cocktails so I intentionally arrived late and passed by Bloomindale's first to purchase my reserved dress.

The four of us slept over at Et's. We got home pretty late because ET was drunk and she was very hesitant to part w Hai, which ended up w him coming along w us to pick up K&C's luggages in midtown.

IN JERSEY, we played taboo while waiting for ET to finish cooking rice. Dinner: Spam and Egg. How truly gourmet.

Next day, we had yet another scrumptious meal: Corned beef and rice. Pat and Rica showed up during lunch and i got to persuade them to come along to Statue of Liberty. The more the merrier indeed.

It's been twelve years since i last visited Statue of Liberty. Last time i came, my Nanay Loleng (she's passed away..) and Te Ely were with me, and my father, i think. I was looking forward to go there. Good memories live there.

The thing with tourist spots (WARNING: this is only my opinion) is that, people recently really only take pictures of the monument and the event itself, and forget to appreciate why the place attracts people to come. Certainly, I plead guilty to this as well.. and maybe, this is my underlying reason why i am never one to be interested in taking trips to monumental place. In fact, i don't recall ever liking or being enthusiastic on any museum i've ever gone to. I suck.

On a different note, this magnum opus bummer does have a great
passion: FOOD! It was planned ahead that we were going to have dinner in Serendipity. Yumyum. Have not been there since... let's see. I think last time i was there was with Gelo and Derek pa. Always nice to have NY guests to take there. I had my usual main course: BBq casserole. Dessert: the colossal Outrageous Banana Split and Ice Cream Crepe (it was just a so-so).

For insiders aka cool peeps:

  • Funny Jessica: Have you tried goosecheese??
  • Funny Jessica again: How about a quarter pound?

Minette had her Baby Shower this Saturday of May 6. It was at 2pm, but time is of no essence when Rica and I are together. BUT, ha! It's mostly her this time. Ms. Rica/Eva Longoria woke up pretty late and she most certainly had to create a most beautiful facade.

I love my dress. Coz it makes me feel, it makes me feel, it makes me feel like a natural... woman.

I got Minette a diaper changing pad and this cushion for the baby so she doesn't fall off the bed. Being the absent-minded femme i am, I forgot to sign my name on my gift. Siggh..

We headed to ate Claire's afterwards. Taboo time!

Inside Jowks:

  • Claire: A line starts with a???? (ans: Point)
  • ET: Owshan.
  • Smart Jessica: Conjunction!!!!
  • Eric: Magazn.

Thank You So Much

Now and then, we all need a little help, so we ask for small favors. But it's always best to be wary of those eager to come to our rescue because even the smallest of favors carries a price tag. Yes, everyone has an agenda no matter what they may tell us. And in those rare instances where there is no ulterior motive we're so taken aback that we may fail to recognize the truth that a loving friend has just done us an enormous favor.

This goes out to all my beautiful friends, you know who you are, who has continuously been there for me. Ready, without a doubt, not matter the circumstance, to listen and love.

I put you all so high on my pedestal. Know eternally, despite the miles, that I am here.

It takes just a moment to lose trust and a hell of a long time to gain it back.

I'm aware this will take some time, and I'm willing to wait as much as it takes. I do feel guilty, moreover though, I really miss David.

I never meant to hurt him, but in the process of my wrong actions, i did. I'm sorry I hurt you. I'm sorry I wasn't who you wanted me to be. I'm sorry I did things that made you feel bad and I'm sorry I didn't do everything right. I'm so sorry that I can't stop crying as I write this. I never wanted to hurt you. You are one of the greatest people I've ever met.

I really want the best for him, even if it means that the best is for him to no longer see me. I will love him for the rest of my life, with or without him. I was stupid, it was a mistake, I was wrong,

I love him, and will wait for a while, a good long while, to see if he can get over it. I don't know if he knows how badly hurting him is hurting me too and I could never do that again.

I'm so sorry.

Vday 2006

Cupid's Day

It's Valentine's DAY! What to do, what to do.

Mmm.. well Tina got her Rubic's cube just in time to give Hai, although they have no set plans as of yet for tonight. I have no plans, myself, which is fine since my mother will be staying home anyway.

I love Valentine's day, and no matter how sexist it may seem, I think this day is dedicated for the ladies. It's OUR day. And it's the men's responsibilty to sweep us off our feet today and express their undying love for us.. Well, you get what I'm saying.
I've loved Valentine's since I was 11. That's when i started geting roses religiously on Vday. It's cute, since roses back then were like PHP10, or $0.20.

I've forgotten who gave me my first flowers. I do remember my first boyfriend, Lester Cua, giving me my first tulips. Loved it!

Hahaha, Marc Ocampo-Tan, my ex-bf for 5 years, gave me the biggest bouquet of roses on our first Valentine's, It was so big they were sitting on a huge weaved basket. Now, my friends would say i'm pretty high-maintenance, but I dare say, I'm not. Fancy restaurants are not my thing. Flowers and balloons are enough to make me giddy.
Sigghh..

I'm sure Valentine's day could be a wonderful day, or a sad day, depending on one's life circumstances. And for couples that spend a nervous and apprehensive day wondering if your lover's card or gift will meet your expectation, I say GET OVER IT. Help your lover in the planning stage, that way, you both get to enjoy the day, together.
* * *

Chatted with Jean today, which really made a great start for my day. She's in Jakarta for a focused group discussion for Rexona. She and Ron broke up. Indifference, like what I felt for awhile with Marc. Makes me wonder...
Do relationships become staid, and boring,
once the fun and excitement of physical love ebbs?
This period is the real test for the relationship, I think. I'm sure all relationships have down cycles, and it's how the couple cope with this that is most significant. Especially if the love is worth fighting for, I feel it's best to not take the situation too hard.

I really want to start blogging again.

It's amusing how I was capable before of writing in my diary DAILY in PH, and I can't even jot down a few events once a month. It's either i've been really busy or i've just really been lazy.

OR BOTH.

Between you and me and the fencepost...
Today was pretty interesting. Rica was with Pat in Jersey and she had this date all set up for awhile now with an old time friend, Marvin. She couldn't go because "she had to go to CA in see her grandfather". I had no plans tonight so, geez, might as well. And the offer was sweet, comes with manicure, pedicure, and hair.

Awesome pre-date, huh?

Thing was, I had no formal dress. Hmm.. I do have the new nine west shoes (though it's strappy and it's 0Degree outside!).

Gizel came with me to bloomingdales. I got this ultra sexy chrome colored dress in size 2, but it wouldn't fit my *****

Dag-nabbit!

I had to choose black instead, against my will.

I also bought a gold colored shawl, since it may be chilly.
All that in less than an hour (Do give me credit! This is an spontaneous formal event, with no further days to search for that little black dress).

Then, we were on out pursuit for a toeless stockings. Yes, you read right. Isn't that, like, the greatest invention (for a month, at least). Marshalls, none. Macy's, unquestionable yes, but parking? Ridiculous.

Finally, i get to my salon appointment. I was scrambling since it was 530p already, and I haven't taken a shower yet.
