North Shore Interview

Just left the an interview for a Pain Management per diem position for North Shore. The questions were RIDIC:
"What do you know about the healthcare system"
"Give me a scenario were you went above and beyond for a patient"
"Give me a specific situation where you advocated for a patient"
"Give me a head to toe assessment of a patient with pneumonia"
For that pneumonia question, I said the typical findings like labored respirations, increased pulse, dyspnea, fever. NOOO, wasn't enough -- as she said, "That's it? What about mental status? Is he alert and oriented? The diet, his GI system?"
Ummm, well in that case Ms. Y. Joseph, let me check his preference for meds too --whole or crushed in applesauce.

Oh well, at least I got confirmation of my start date in Beth Israel, yaay!
I start November 7. I so want it deferred so I can focus on this thousand credits I'm taking this semester at Adelphi. But, I guess they really need nurses so, it's juggling act time. Bring it.

I hope A* gets the good call this week. He is so incredibly smart to be working in Regal and getting $28/hr. Soo nurse shortage employer compensation abuse.

I can't wait to leave Mary Manning. It's changed so much since I started. First Ms. Mary Lou Cushing, the Luke, then Alfonso. I can't wait till Flynn gets the boot.
